Scott's passion since childhood is to collect antiques. Growing up in Omaha, Nebraska, he browsed local antique shops and started collecting as a teen. After graduating from Arizona State University with a B.A. in Art History and minors in Business and Chinese Mandarin, Scott moved to Seattle where he opened Singer Galleries in 1981. Over the years Scott has watched his business grow from the little local antique shop to a highly-respected International antique business. Scott is also a long-standing member of the International Society of Appraisers. He travels across Washington, Oregon, California, and Arizona serving appraisal clients for insurance, divorce, equitable distribution, and estate purposes.
Maria McCrackin
Maria started working at Singer Galleries in 1987 at 16 years of age. Starting as a part-time office assistant and eventually becoming store manager. Maria was born and raised in Seattle and is a University of Washington graduate with a B.A. in Business Administration.
Maria is also an accredited valuer with the Appraisals International Society. She has successfully completed the registered gemologist appraiser courses offered by the Insurance Institute of Jewelry Appraisals and continues her education in the field of gemology and appraising. Her extensive experience in the antique and appraisal business has given her a great understanding of the marketplace with a specific interest in estate jewelry and antique silver.
Over the years Maria has watched the antique business change with technology. She was a major contributor bringing Singer Galleries online in the early stages of internet commerce. As an antique collector herself, Maria enjoys her days at work researching new pieces and connecting people with beautiful things.
